New Pro At Ruby View
Friday, April 16, 2010 - Elko Native Brad Martin is Ruby View's new golf pro. He learned to golf on the local links, later becoming a state high school champ. After college he became a pro, working in San Francisco and Portland, Oregon. Long time Ruby View pro, Rick Longhurst, has moved over and will be Ruby View's Director of Golf.

February 24, 2010 - Dave McCabe, a teacher at Elko High School and boys and girls golf coach, was named as girls varsity basketball coach today.

High School Sports Realignment
Friday, February 5, 2010 - School Superintendents from across the state have agreed to a money-saving move that will shift sports play across all divisions beginning this fall. Jeff Zander is the Elko County Superintendent of Schools and says the impending realignment should also prop up school spirit. The action is expected to be approved by the Board of Control in March and would impact sports competition beginning this fall.

Sellers New Elko High Football Coach
Thursday, January 21, 2010 - Elko High School wishes to announce the hiring of Luke Sellers as the new football coach for the school. Coach Sellers was the offensive coordinator for Elko under coach Bob Milligan for seven years and has been the assistant wrestling coach for 13 years.
Coach Sellers graduated from Wooster High School where he was an outstanding athlete in football, wrestling, and baseball. He went on to play baseball at Lassen College and Nevada.
Sellers will be in studio Friday morning on News 10 Today from 6am-7am to discuss where the program goes from here.

Elko High Fires Football Coach
Wednesday, January 6, 2010 - Earlier this week Elko High School Principal fired 3-year head football coach Mike Tournahu.
During his coaching term Tournahu won 5 games in 3 seasons, posting a 5-24 record.
Right before the last game of this season News 10's Terry Hritz asked Tournahu if he plans to be around next season. You can watch his reponse by clicking on the link below.
No word from school officals of when the search for a new football coach will begin. Elko High will drop down to the 3A league next year, if the NIAA approves the new realignment at their March meeting.

Elko Football Back to Back Wins
Friday, September 12, 2009- The Elko Football team picked up a homecoming win tonight as the Indians defeated Wooster 44-0. This is the first home win for Elko in 9 games. Elko is now 2-1 on the season. They will have a bye next week before opening up the league season on the road at Reed on Friday, September 25th
