Bat Discovery Delays School Start

Students at Elko's Grammar #2 won't be returning to class until Tuesday, September 5th after a bat found in the Main Building over the weekend tested positive for rabies. Superintendent Jeff Zander said local officials are workingwith state health authorities to determine how to best mitigate health concerns. No students or staff have been exposed. About 350 students of the pk-4 grade campus are impacted by the delay. Parents are advised to visit the Grammar #2 website for more information.

Classes resume throughout the Elko County School District on Monday, August 28.
